Katty Grebot-Scharwatt, born in 1956 in Lyon (France), demonstrated from early childhood an ability to paint. Her first exhibition took place when she was aged 15 years old, and her very first painting was awarded a first prize by a jury, during a stay in England.
After two years at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Lyon, frustration and a need for space led her to take her "sketchbook and backpack," on the path of the sun and the sea. Exposed to the maritime element the desire to go even further took her, and the boat became essential to her existence. The watercolor technique and travels are in perfect harmony with the maritime element. Many travel on the oceans led her to sharpen her artistic gaze upon meeting various vessels. |
